You may have a serious problem if you answered No to one or more of the seven questions about your current advisor. No means you hired an advisor with inadequate knowledge about the professional’s integrity, credentials, business practices, and compensation.
Advisors don’t volunteer this information because they don’t have to. So unless you ask the right questions, you won’t receive the information you need to determine the quality of the advisor. You should send your advisor the questionnaire contained in “Evaluate My Advisor” so you can obtain a written response to your request for information. Any failure by the advisor to provide all of the information is grounds for immediate termination. After all, how do you trust an advisor with your financial security when the person won’t disclose pertinent information to you?
